We went outside last week to practice our sight words...with chalk!!! We had a blast working with a partner as we read and wrote our sight words. I am proud of how far each kiddo has come this year. They continue to amaze me each day! A big pat on our back for each one of you and as we say in Miss Fausett's classroom "Man, I'm good."

Our Field Trip day finally arrived after much anticipation and excitement! On Friday we ventured to the John Ball Park Zoo and the Grand Rapid's Children Museum. The bus ride was long but incredibly worth it. We had a blast discovering, exploring, and learning at the museum. We got to play with bubbles, play kitchen, grocery shopping, bank, play with trains, make crafts, and more! What a blast we had!
When we finished, we headed to the Zoo to see many fascinating animals. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures at the zoo (parents if you have any you would like to share, please email them to me)! A huge shout out to all of my fantastic parents that made this day one to always remember! Your help was so appreciated. Our Flat Stanley's have been traveling to some fantastic places! They each have came back to tell us exciting stories of their travels. We have learned so much about places other than Michigan! Thanks to our Flat Stanley's who have also brought pictures and artifacts to share so we can visualize the places in our head! Here are some pictures of the Flat Stanley's who have returned.
We earned a Game Day last Friday because we have been such hard workers! We earn a letter if we follow directions, stay on task, help one another as a whole class. We did it and earned each letter for our Game Day! Hooray to us! We had a blast. Thanks for sharing your games with us. We had fun learning new games.
Reading is fun but reading outside is even better! Last Thursday we got to choose whether we wanted to read by ourselves or read with a partner outside. It was a beautiful day for it! When we came back inside we shared 3 details of what we read or what our friend read to us.
We have been doing an excellent job with our writing! We are constantly remembering our 4 goals:
1. Uppercase letter at the beginning of our sentence 2. Finger spacing in between our words 3. Period at the end of our sentence 4. Re-read our sentence We are beginning to share our writing on our Show & Tell Day. We are calling it our "Author's Chair." So fun and I'm so proud of their writing! They sure are excited to share! |
