Saturday was my birthday and since we were not in school on my birthday, I decided to celebrate a little on Friday with my favorites! My mom sent me a special box to open with our class. Inside we discovered an adorable, gigantic owl and party noise makers! I apologize for these loud party favors being sent home Friday...I blame my mom!!! What a special way to celebrate my birthday!

This week was full of number recognition, number writing, and counting. Keep practicing writing your numbers the correct way at home! Zoe was so much fun to have as a student of the week! She was an incredible helper and extremely responsible. We learned that her favorite book is named after her called Zoe's Room! We learned about her family and that she knows all of the words to Taylor Swift's "I knew you were trouble." She also has a beautiful American girl doll named Josephine. Thanks for sharing Zoe! These kiddos were very proud of their sorting abilities all on their own during choice time! They recommended that I take their picture since they thought of this all on their own! Even during our unstructured time of the day, these two owls are still working so hard! Listen to Reading is valuable for developing fluency and vocabulary. We never have a whole class listening to reading at the same time. There are 2 choices: listening to a story on our CD player/tape player or listening to a story on the computer. What a week! Izzy did such a great job being our class helper. She showed us many favorite toys, we read her favorite book, and she even showed us a special outfit today! The outfit was a perfect representation of the Heroic Hawkeye she is...a sparkly pink Superman dress with a cape (hard to see in the picture)! Super Izzy! This week we continued counting, adding dice together and finding the number on our 30's chart, patterns, and practicing our hexagon shapes. We like to remember a hexagon has the /x/ sound in it, and has six sides which also has the /x/ sound in it. Great week #2! Thank you so much to Teagan and her family for bringing in such a fun treat for our owl classroom! What a special surprise and fun ending to a fabulous day! |
