One important tid bit that was left out of the newsletter this week...

Dylan is our Student of the Week this week. Dylan has a brother and a sister that he loves to play with. He also has a cat named Snickers! We thought that was a fun name! His favorite color is blue, his favorite food is spaghetti, and his favorite sport is T-ball. Yesterday he brought in his favorite book to share with the class and we all enjoyed it very much! Today he brought in his Buzz Light Year toy. Dylan has been a great helper so far this week and we love learning about him.
Caroline was our first Student of the Week and she did a fantastic job sharing more about herself! We learned that she, like our classroom, also loves owls! She wore an owl shirt and brought in a stuffed animal to share with the class. She also told us about her family and how much they all mean to her! She brought in an extra special book that we read with Caroline as a character in it! Caroline's favorite song is "Call Me Maybe." What a fun week learning more about you! Thank you for sharing.
We've kicked off the year right with lots of learning, sitting still, listening to directions, etc. and our brains need a break every once in a while! Last week we visited Mrs. Z's Bumblebee classroom and all 3 of our Kindergarten classes joined in together for some brain break fun! What a blast to see some of our new friends and old friends (some know kiddos from Young Fives)! In this picture we are doing "Count to 100" which gets our bodies moving but also helps us to practice our counting in a fun way :)
Please, please, please help our classroom become a "Peanut Safe Zone." We have 3 kiddos in class this year severely allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. Please check your ingredient labels before sending your child with a snack! At the bottom of the label watch out for "Made in a factory that also processes peanuts and tree nuts." DO NOT bring these in either.
Here are a list of snacks that are okay: -Goldfish -Nilla wafers -Rold Gold pretzels -Teddy Grahams -Scooby Doo Graham Cracker Sticks -Ritz Crackers -Cheez-Its We also have 2 dairy allergies. Bringing in some Ritz crackers or pretzels for these kiddos will also be very helpful! Thank you for your understanding and help as we keep our classroom safe! -Mrs. Ley Since we are Mrs. Ley's Owls, we decided to make some cute owls for our bulletin board outside of our classroom. They did a FANTASTIC job with them! So adorable. Here are some pictures of our hard work cutting, glueing, and following directions!
